• 4-Acetamido tempo has a wide range of applications in various sectors. This free radical oxidizes alcohols to carbonyl compounds in the presence of TsOH. TEMPO is commonly employed in organic synthesis as a catalyst for the oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes. TEMPO oxidations are also known to exhibit chemoselectivity, being inert towards secondary alcohols, but the reagent will convert aldehydes to carboxylic acids.
