ANTIBIOTIC ASSAY MEDIUM NO. 35 is supplied by TM MEDIA. It is used for the microbiological assay of Bleomycin using Mycobacterium smegmatis. This medium is employed widely as a base agar for agar diffusion assay of Bleomycin using Mycobacterium smegmatis. The nutrients essential for the growth of the test organism are provided by Peptone and HM peptone B in this medium. Agar provides an excellent solid substratum for support and overlaying of seed agar, for the assay of Bleomycin. The addition of glycerol is important for the provision of carbon to the test organism.
