ANTIBIOTIC ASSAY MEDIUM NO. 36 (SOYA BEAN CASEIN DIGEST AGAR) (TRYPTONE SOYA AGAR) is supplied by TM MEDIA. It is used for the enrichment and isolation of fastidious microorganisms with or without blood. This medium is prepared by completely replacing animal-based peptones with vegetable peptones that are free ofBSE/TSE risks. Soybean Veg Agar is the modification of Soyabean Casein Digest Agar with the replacement of Caseinenzymic hydrolysate by Veg hydrolysate. Soybean Veg Agar can be used as a general-purpose medium used formultiple applications e.g. as a blood culture medium, as a maintenance medium for culture collections (includingmaintenance of stock cultures), for testing bacterial contaminants, and for isolating fastidious organisms onenrichment with blood.
