Beeswax white by Research-Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade chemical reagent. Beeswax is obtained from the honeycombs of bees after the honey has been removed by draining or by centrifugation. Beeswax consists of a mixture of esters of fatty acids and fatty alcohols, hydrocarbons and free fatty acids; minor amounts of free fatty alcohols are also present. The crude yellow beeswax is bleached with oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, sulphuric acid and sunlight etc. to produce white beeswax. CAS No.: 8012-89-3 Quantity Provided: 500 gm per bottle Storage Temperature: Room temperature This white beeswax can be used in many applications and is suitable for use in histology. Purified and bleached beeswax is used in the production of food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. It has been used as an ingredient in surgical bone wax, which is used during surgery to control bleeding from bone surfaces. In food preparation, beeswax is used as a coating for cheese to protect it from spoilage. It is also used as a food additive E901, in small quantities acting as a glazing agent. Soft gelatin capsules and tablet coatings may also use E901. It is increasingly being utilized in creams for skin care as well as lip balms and other cosmetics.
