Benzene by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This is a hydrocarbon which consists of six carbon atoms joined in a ring with one hydrogen atom attached to each molecule. The reagent is available as a colourless liquid which is slightly soluble in water but highly soluble in alcohol and some organic solvents. It has a melting point of 5.53 C, and a boiling point of 80.1 C. While this reagent is stable under general conditions, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Benzene can be prepared by catalytic reforming, toluene hydro-dealkylation, toluene disproportionation and steam cracking. CAS No.: 71-43-2 Quantity Provided: 500 ml per bottle Molecular formula: C6H6 Molecular weight: 78.11 Assay: minimum 99.8 % Suitable for HPLC and SpectroscopyBenzene has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This reagent is extensively used as a precursor in organic synthesis to generate various compounds. These include ethylbenzene, cumene, cyclohexane, nitrobenzene, and alkylbenzene among others. Benzene is additionally used to produce some types of rubbers, lubricants, dyes, detergents, drugs, explosives, and pesticides. It is also incorporated in gasoline to increase the octane rating and reduces knocking. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
