This is a Blood Agar Base No. 2, HiVeg which comes with 1.2% Agar. It is specially devised to permit the maximum recovery of fastidious pathogenic microorganisms without interfering with their haemolytic reactions. This Blood Agar Base No. 2, HiVeg with 1.2% Agar is prepared by using vegetable peptones instead of animal peptones
