GeNei Competent Cells Preparation Kit (A) is a kit provided for convenient preparation of competent cells. Competent cells are those bacterial cells which are treated to be more ready to incorporated foreign DNA. Competent cells are used for transformation and further, for cloning. However, it is often seen that competent cell preparation is quite tricky, time consuming and yields poor transformation efficiency. The GeNei Competent Cells Preparation Kit (A) allows a user to generate competent cells with increased transformation efficiency. The kit promotes faster and cheaper preparation of competent cells. Under ideal reaction conditions and using E.coli DH5 and pUC 19 plasmid, the kit gives a high transformation efficiency of 105 106 transformants/g. The kit uses the calcium chloride method of competent cell preparation and all the necessary reagents are provided in the kit itself. The reagents are supplied in a pre-sterilized manner and the kit provides for 25 transformation reactions, wherein, each reaction would require 100 L of competent cells.
