This kit simplifies isolation of DNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissues such as liver, brain, lung, heart, kidney, spleen, etc. with spin column procedure. Animal tissue is subjected to lysis by Proteinase K in a chaotropic salt solution. Following lysis is the binding of DNA to the silica gel membrane of the HiElute Miniprep Spin Column (Capped) to yield purified DNA. Two rapid wash steps removes trace salt and protein contaminants resulting in the elution of high quality DNA in the Elution Buffer (ET) provided with the kit. Typical DNA yield from 25 mg of tissue is 5-30 g of DNA.
