KBr liquid windows come in rectangular shape and are exclusively designed to meet the laboratory standards. The KBr is one of the unique window material used because of the special range it offers and cheap cost. It is easily soluble in water and glycerine with a slight level of solubility in alcohol. It is most commonly used in various FTIR windows as KBr is thermally resistant and can bear any mechanical shock easily. KBr is often used as a sample carrier in IR spectra as it is optically transparent for the light in the range of IR measurement thus, there will be no interference in absorbence, giving accurate results.
