Phosphate Buffered Saline, pH 7.2 is supplied by HiMedia. It is available in the form of a white to cream homogeneous free flowing powder with a pH in the range of 7.0-7.4. It is advisable to store this product below 30C. Composition (in gm/L) is as follows:

Sodium chloride (8.50)

Disodium hydrogen phosphate (1.91)

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (0.38)

Phosphate Buffered Saline is commonly used for preparing dilutions, blanks for the examination of waters, dairy products, foods, utensils and other specimens. This solution gives a pH of 7.2 and also provides potassium, sodium and phosphate ions.
