High grade Polysorbate 80 Agar (Twin Pack) is supplied by Micromaster. It is available as two parts, A and B. Part A is in the form of a cream to greenish yellow homogeneous free flowing powder and part B is in the form of a colourless clear viscous liquid. This reagent has a pH in the range of 7.0 to 7.4. For maximum efficiency, it must be stored below 30C in tightly closed container.

Polysorbate 80 Agar is used for the cultivation of variety of microorganisms. It is a nutritional medium containing neutralizing agent. This medium thus helps in neutralizing phenolic disinfectants, hexachlorophene and formalin present in the medium thereby increasing the metabolic rate of the organisms.The medium contains peptic digest of animal tissue, which provides the necessary nutrients for the growth of the organisms. Polysorbate 80 provides fatty acids for the metabolism of the organisms and neutralizes phenolic disinfectants, hexachlorophene and formalin.
