Therefore, R2A agar provides a less nutrient-rich environment that allows for the growth and study of these slower-growing species. R2A Agar is a medium used in laboratories to both cultivate and count bacteria present in drinking water. It is not intended for diagnostic purposes in humans. R2A Agar was designed for plate counting bacterial colonies in treated drinking water.
