Sodium phosphate monobasic by MP Biomedicals is a high grade reagent. This compound is a salt of sodium and phosphate. This reagent is available as a white powder which is freely soluble in water, however it is insoluble in ethanol. This salt can be obtained by partial neutralization of phosphoric acid. Sodium acid pyrophosphate can be generated by heating sodium phosphate salt above 169 C. The salt can exist in an anhydrous form, as well as a mono- and dihydrate form.
