Tris- SDS is ready to use laboratory grade buffer used in molecular biology experiments. The buffer contains SDS i.e. Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate which is used in SDS-PAGE. The SDS plays role in denaturation of protein molecules to be separated and the Tris maintains the pH of the buffer. The optimum pH of 8.8 helps in the appropriate movement of proteins under the influence of the current. The buffer is often used in experiments as a tank buffer. The solution comes in a volume of 100 ml.
