This reagent is available as an off-white flaky powder which is insoluble in water. It swells in size when added to water. Veegum is additionally used as an in-mix suspending agent and surface hardener in glazes. It is furthermore employed as a plasticizing agent where it can efficiently plasticize completely non-plastic materials such as calcined alumina, zirconia, calcium carbonate etc. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
